Starfleet finally figured out what to do with all the nuts that had made it through the system. They sent them to the Beta Quadrant.
The USS Inept, NX-5826. The only Starfleet vessel with padded safety railings installed everywhere. It's got nothing more powerful than phasers attached to the tactical console, but it has got the most comprehensive defense system ever. It's designed to be run by the computer, with minimal input from the crew. But of course, nobody saw fit to tell the computer.
It's also got a pair of companion ships, but I wouldn't exactly say they're up to Starfleet specs. Actually, they aren't Starfleet at all. They're Romulan. And they're not exactly companion ships... they just follow the Inept around because the one commander they've got between them is sort of the Captain's boyfriend.
